well, i can't listen to it very loudly cause its already midnight here

but it sounds like a normal gated snare to me. It's probably using one of those things (that i dont know the name in english ) to take the gate's reverb out a bit.

Listening to it, I can see what you mean, but I'm not a drummer so there is much chance of me being wrong as there is right. It could just be the EQ and reverb, and possibly some other effect that makes it sound like that. It hasn't got much mid-range which could be it.

I'm pretty sure his snare is real, but he could have a trigger on it, but i doubt it. Stay brutal!!!!!!!!
