Is it possible that Aes is better than Stormcrowfleet?

no fucking way. sorry, that's just my opinion. aes rules, but it's "epic and majestic" in a totally different way than Stormcrowfleet. SCF has a floaty, amazing atmosphere that exists on that album and to some degree the demo EXCLUSIVELY.

There is nothing in the Skepticism catalog that matches (or even sounds like) Stormravenfoot, but the next best thing is Lead & Aether, just for "March and the Stream" alone.

I don't think so. I don't frequent other forums so I don't know how widely it's hailed.

One thing though -- a sign of good music is when it transcends genres and so a wide range of fans begin to appreciate it. I would think "Stormcrowfleet" falls into that category; it's just one of those moments of greatness that's hard for anyone to deny (or at least appreciate).

EDIT: I say it transcends the genre because Skepticism are known for playing Funeral Doom. However, "Stormcrowfleet" is not strict FD.

I have heard it, but I don't own it. Actually, I don't own "Process of Farmakon" either. I suppose I should get them both eventually.

I can't compare it to the song you just posted, but I really do believe it stands right there with anything on Stormcrowfleet.

I don't know. Usually I'd be inclined to agree with this but depending on my mood, sometimes I think Lead And Aether is better. "The March and the Stream" is probably their best song.

It could be their best song, but as entire albums go, I'd have to give the nod to Stormcrowfleet. I can listen to it all the way through in one sitting.

Aes is infuckingcredibly atmospheric. I've still only listened to Stormcrowfleet a couple of times, but I'm sold on it 100%. Lead and Aether was actually for some reason one of the first metal albums I heard. I don't think I quite "got" it at the time, and for whatever reason I forgot about Skepticism for a while.
