Shit just reading ProgPower and laughing at Bryant cussing out Glenn. Not too nice but Bryant has an opinion and gets banned for stating it.

Sad.

What does everyone else think about the "my house" line of thinking that Glenn has?

I think there are tatical ways of stating something. I think you can rant, rant, vent and be upset but the F.U. was out of line, imo. Maybe if it had a smiley face after it like a joke but whew! that was some harsh reading!

Yes, I agree that there woulda been a million other "nicer" ways of saying what he wanted to say. Knowing Bryant like most do, even Glenn does, he shoulda known what he was trying to do/say...

Bryant, Bryant, Vryant. What are we gonna do with you? :loco: What can I say? You put in plain language what I've been thinking since I first read the post about the ban. I blame the bootleggers for the ban rather than Glen though. I tend to blame the assholes that fuck it up for the rest of us.

Y'all are right though. The my way or the highway attitude is over the top. And the ass kissing is why I tend to lurk rather than post over there. Glen just might have read just a few too many of the "Glen is the greatest promoter in the world" posts.

Bryant, I do hope that you will reconsider and attend PP next year. It's the only time I get to see you, my long lost brother from a different mother.

Yeah, it made me kind of pissed at Glenn. I don't really like his "my way or the highway" attitude. I also don't think it's very big of him that he was like "hahahaah you're off the gold badge list and I'm banning you" as a retaliation. He took an opposition to a policy that someone had and made it a personal thing.

Knowing somewhat what Glenn is like, I wouldn't have added the last part, but it was kind of funny seeing mild-tempered Bryant saying fuck you. :)

I see his position, since he says some bands won't play if they can't be assured that no one is taping, but I would tell those bands in the most respectful way to "grow up." :p

I hope you guys can reconcile and not turn into sworn enemies over this. :Spin:

Pumpkin, you hit the nail on the head. I am not sure how this show can be his own "personal" thing. He has sponsorship on many levels. He is the promoter and we all know that, he tells us that daily almost. BUT, it was the Gold Badge holders that provided the CASH to really make this happen. Anything that Glenn put up such as time and money really is nothing more than his own support for the cause. Which again is "owned" by the stockholders (i.e. Gold Badge holders and sponsors).

There is nothing stopping anyone from doing what he is doing. Brave Words, Chicago Powerfest are my hopes. Hell, even Gigantour had a band that needed to be at ProgPower since day one, Nevermore! Everyone forgets that Brainstorm played BW&BK BEFORE PP... So the my house, my show, my, my, my... Grow up.

I don't know. I guess I am just kinda tired of the Glenn is God thing. And if he wants to take that as personal then so be it.

I remember an old boss saying something to a complaining co-worker years ago. Went something like this "Shut up and do your job"! To the bands that have a primadonna attitude towards selling thier music to us consumers... Shut up and Play!

At first I felt like i had to make all my views known and understood, but after awhile I realized no one cares and it really doesnt matter anyway, we are all just people sitting on a computer talking , no different then if you ent out in public and talked to people. Some people agree some dont.

Don't know when or where it happened, but I know Bryant. He's my bro in arms and I'm sure that whatever he said and done was justified and valid, he's not a hothead or a troll. After some time around I can testify that Bryant posts (including the ones showing the ass :p) are intelligent, measured and dignifying of what UMOS is about.

Peace.

if nobody wants to, that's fine......but I'm TOTALLY in the dark here, can somebody explain what this is about Bryant getting banned?? I'm really confused:confused:

thanks for the linkage.

Wow, that's kind of stupid, digital cameras that can't take motion video are banned, but normal cameras that do the EXACT same thing aren't? That's really hypocrtical if you ask me.

Not really.......I still don't agree with it.....but....

This year Glenn caught 17 bootleggers or something. They have people watching with binoculars for people videotaping the show, but picture a huge sea of LCD screens on the floor. That's what it looks like. :p

So basically if digital cameras are banned it's supposed to be easier for them to spot the bootleggers and remove them.

That's Glenn's perspective anway. :)

You will be able to take pictures but they will have to come from a 35mm film camera. Which to me is going back to the bag issue last year. No bags... I saw countless people with bags walking around this year...??? My 35mm camera bag is about 10 times larger than my digital camera bag... See how I am thinking...

So at this rate PP10 we will have to be completely naked and upon leaving, have our memories erased!!!

I think the banning of the cameras is pretty stupid as well, but I think the FU at the end of the post was uncalled for. I think your a great guy Bryant, and I hope you can work something out with Glenn to fix this matter. I want to hang with you next year! It's a shame that he immediately banned you.
