I know about the newer versions of PT but i just got a DIGI 001 and PT 6.0 WITH A MAC!!! off a buddy for 100 usd
And i was wondering if its atleast decent?? How the editing capabilites?? Quantize drums?? I never used PT before
It has only like 24 channels and i dont know about its capabilites
i was reading about beat dective i hear a lot about that!!!
What do ya think?????
I use SX3 now think it would be a difference at all??

sux

so many "modern" Pro tools features I just can't live without.
like: right clicking
multi-core processor support
instrument tracks
new AIR plugins
Elastic audio
new playlist comping feature
being able to insert a plugin, change inputs and outputs, and create tracks without stopping playback

All that stuff was added in V 7+

Can i upgrade the program without gettin new hardware?? It cant be that bad??

not with a 001, the last version that worked with it was 6.4

but you can get an original Mbox for $100 on craigslist and upgrade to the latest version 8.0 for $150

But then it's not gonna work great on an old computer.

PT 6.0 is not pretty, makes me cringe at the thought of using it, especially on an old mac.

I mean there was many good records of that time recorded with it so it cant be the worst??
Im not expecting much
Im just asking is it a good direction to go as far as PT??

I have edited on pt 6 using an 001 (some middle school concert shit for my internship). It does indeed blow, but it's not unusable. I had just gotten so used to 7 that it sucked to not have some of the features missing (pt8 wasn't out yet).

My opinion though would be to have 2 versions of pro tools installed. One with an mbox micro with the current version, and use the 001 with PT6 to track. Again, just what I would do.
