Isis

Panopticon was the best album released last year except for maybe Boris's Feedbacker, which may have been released in 2003 I don't know, fuck Japan and their stupid Japan only releases.

ISIS are a great band doing something different (for Americans anyway).

Live, I was really disappointed though - more so with Aaron as opposed to the band as a whole: Aaron barely said a word to the crowd, and it was their first ever tour to Australia! Not a good way to start off - in a new country, ther crowd needs to get to know the band a little, it goes a long way.

Performance wise though, it was good. A solid outing and good renditions of their material.

Overall, ISIS are an impressive and intriguing band. I'd tell anyone to give them a go.

Thats how they are live... they don't waste time saying HEY HOWS IT GOIN? to the crowd. They let the music take over and let the songs flow into eachother. I like it much better that way, for a band like ISIS atleast. I dont get distracted from the music

I would love to see a band like Isis or Neurosis live, not at a normal venue like most metal bands, but in a big concert hall.

To be fair the majority of metal bands I've seen live don't really talk an awful lot to the crowd, most of them just introduce the songs and then get right into it. The only band I've ever seen that really played around with the crowd was Cephalic carnage, and you kind of expect it of them.

Isis don't even introduce the songs, they keep the music flowing throughout the whole gig and it really matches there style. Personally I found them to be incredible live. Isis fans should check out Overmars as well, there sound is a more brutal take on the whole post-metal thing, or whatever you call it.

It is true, wether or not you agree. They are one of the most talented bands around, and will continue to be so, just like an asshole will continue to be an asshole.
