Issues with logics flex time

Hi, so basically I read the "In soviet russia, rums batter you" thread, and decided I should start quantizing live tracks too for adding in samples etc etc, but when I go onto logic (9, express) and try using the slicing feature in flex time, like every tutorial says i should, logic analyzes the tracks and doesn't create any flex markers whatsoever when it should be.....

help please? D:

EDIT: It works as long as I don't have phase locked audio selected, but as you all probably know, if it's not phase locked, it will probably end up sounding weird...

Place the markers by hand. It's more time consuming but it'll sound better in the end. Slicing mode can sound really bad if Logic generates too many flex markers, I usually delete all automatically generated markers before placing markers myself.

If you work with metal you have to place by hand.

Set all your drum track to the same group before choosing slice.
