So I was at a buddy's house last night, and we were playing the new Tony Hawk game.....and believe it or not they had VENOM's BLACK METAL on the soundtrack:erk: I still can't believe it. They also have some D.R.I. on there:yell: Next thing you know they're going to be carrying Immortal shirts at Hot Topic:ill: 'tis a sad day indeed.....

I heard Number of the Beast on one of those games too, can't remember which one (Tony Hawk I mean).

I did think it cool rather than sad though. Still, I get your point. I heard Bob Dylan's Times They Are A Changin' on some financial commercial the other day and had to pause to take it all in. That was indeed odd, if not a bit sad.

yeah....at first I thought it was awesome. I was thinking "wow! Venom on a popular game! They might finally get the publicity they deserve." But after I thought about it for a while, I thought of the kind of kids that play this game. And when they're played D.R.I. back to back with Green Day....they're obviously going to pick D.R.I.....first, because it's not popular, second, it's "hardcore" to them.

not that I'm much of a gamer, but when I played Vice City for the first time, I loved being able to change the radio stations! :tickled: great to cruise around listening to classic metal. :headbang:

what is so wrong with a band being able to promote themselves that way? They're getting paid for it, they themselves probably play some of the games, it's just another form of entertainment. If someone were'nt getting "paid for the job" then I'd be against it.

It certainly is much, much, much better than when I first started playing video games..Atari yeah, whoo hoo Pong! what a fantastic soundtrack!:tickled:

I think you're misunderstanding me. Don't get me wrong, I think it's awesome for the bands to get the publicity...but getting THIS type of publicity with this type of crowd won't do any good. None of the kids who are just getting introduced to Venom by this game will go out and buy any albums....why? Because, they *most likely* won't even like it that much, they'll just buy a shirt or two to try and look cool, and "underground." Now if kids around here start arguing if Schizoid, Mayhem With Mercy, or Witching Hour is the best track off WTH, then I will eat my words, but I honestly can't picture that happening.

aren't you stereotyping a bit? If just 1 person enjoys what they hear, who knows, maybe they'll tell a few friends, buy some cd's, go on a cool website and talk about it....

I guess I am stereotyping, talk about being a hypocrite:oops:
heh, I get what you're saying now....well, I hope this turns out for the better, I honestly do....I just don't want to see Venom be the next band who's shirts are sold at Walmart:erk:

Does this mean Bam Margera is gonna be walking around with a Venom logo on his t-shirt now, instead of a HIM logo...:) ... probably not
