How about VII Arcano? I heard about them on a death metal site (Deathmetal.com) and downloaded one of their songs. They're from Rome and they sound kind of like At The Gates. I've also heard Ephel Duath, but for some reason their wierd sound didn't really click with me; they're definitely talented though.
