I guess it also goes the other way around with Engl prices in the US. It can't all come from needing a different power transformer (110V <-> 220-240V), which only costs 60 euros or so.

True - but given the choice, I'd rather have the good deal on Mesa over Engl
I used to be absolutely in love with Engl, but I'm slowly realizing that a lot of that was because of the price/features, which I assume equated to amazing tone. I've heard some amazing clips of Engls, don't get me wrong, and I still dream of owning a Savage 120 some day, but I've also heard some pretty sub-par sounds as well, whereas after reading in my Jens Bogren appreciation thread that he uses Rectos on pretty much everything he does (which sounds NOTHING like what I thought was the typical Recto tone), I'm pretty much starting to regard that amp as one of the greatest of all time. So now I want one very badly

Eh, if you're referring to Rectos, I'm not really a fan of the chrome diamond plate/black chassis (though Lasse's with those colors inverted is amazingly sweet looking, and it even has the blue power jewel! You bastard... 
). Still, IMO the sexiest amp in existence is the Engl Invader 100, followed closely by my black-chromed JSX (tone of the latter notwithstanding )

Fuck all of you, the Dual Rec is atleast about 26k here, which is as much as 3658 US dollars.

EDIT: If I were to get it from thomann, it would be about 3400 dollars. And everything from thomann is a couple of grand cheaper than here. So, yeah about 3600 - 3700 USD.

It's twenty-six thousand (26000) swedish kronor, different countries have different currencies you know.

I agree about the Invader 100 being the most sexy looking. They sure had the right idea painting those bars black, and those blue LEDs do the rest...

BTW: I think the Roadsters, Road Kings, Rect-O-Verbs and Stilettos ARE the most sexy amps ... PERIOD!!!
Can't stand the standart treadplate-thingie, though. They are even uglier than the 6505's
