its here ... YEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAA

THERE ARE 537 VERSIONS OF FICTION, ALL WITH DIFFERENT ART AND BONUS MATERIAL, IT WILL BE COLLECTOR'S INFERNO.

</caps and lameness>

I wonder when will it reach this desolate corner of zeh planet. No, I didn't pre-order it.

@LBRH: I bought from Andreas too. He's a great ebayer: low prices, great communication. And, yes I'm "nt3n" on ebay. I paid 7 USD for the character poster as it's the only promo item from character I was missing. it's a lot of money, but it's well worth it.

@LaRocque: CD, CD+DVD, LP, AUS-CD, JAP-CD. I already bought CD+DVD and LP (from Andreas), I will buy the CD at my local shop, and today I'm gonna place 2 orders for the JAP and AUS versions.

Does the limited edition have a different cover?

Well, sort of. I just unwrapped my copy. First, imagine the regular cover art without the logo and album title. That's the front of the booklet. Covering that, there's a black plastic sheet where transparent plastic forms the letters "dt". Below that, there's the band name and album title spelled out in white and red respectively. If I'm not too lazy I might scan it later and post here...

NP: Guess three times. :D

OK, so here's the cover art as it looks when booklet and extra sheet are in the jewelcase:

Here's the booklet front page:

And here's the plastic sheet without the booklet behind it:

EDIT1: As you can see, it's complete with teh greasy fingerprints.
EDIT2: My scanner obviously thinks the top of the booklet front page is too white, so it won't bother to scan that part.
EDIT3: And as I'm tired as hell, I posted this in the wrong thread first...

Anyone who has pics of the standard and LP ediitons of the cd?

I got my lim. edition in my postbox this afternoon, and now after almost 3 listenings I must say I´m impressed! Seems to me that "Focus shift" was the most straightforward song on the album, and there seems to be much more depth on the album than what the sneak peak song suggested. Guitarr work is solid, and there seems to be much more variation than on previous albums, especially so with the solos.

I really love Mikaels return to the use of clean vocals, projector is one of my favourite albums ever and I think the vocals really contribute to it. His screaming dosn´t seem as varied as on Character though, he seems to keep the voice in the middle and dosn´t mix the deep grunts and high pitch screams as much as on the previous album. I also welcome the return of the female vocals, although I like the previous singers they´ve worked with much better than Nell.

Artwork is wonderful as usual, I especially like the backside of the folder, with the black birds and a solitary white one breaking off fromn the flock.

One thing that bothers me though. I inserted the CD in the computer and looked for the walllpapers but there´s a bunch files in the "xtras" folder, but my computer dosn´t suggest which program to use. The files dosn´t seem to be the actual wallpapers either, as they´re named things like "SWA Decompression PPC Xtra", anyone who can give me a tip on what to do? :(

On the subject of reviews:
Fiction was reviewed in Swedens largest morning-newspaper today, and was hailed as their best effort since "the gallery"

Review in Swedish

translation:

Together with In Flames and At The Gates Dark Tranquillity can be pointed out as one of the bands that created the melodic death metal that often is associated with Gothenburg. After having made a few weaker efforts their last record "Character" was like a punch in the face for everyone who had doubted them, and the follow up is actually even better. It´s also tougher than anything that has been made by the band for quite a while, the kickass "Blind at heart" is the only proof that is necessary to see that they can still be super agressive.

Mikael Stanne varies effectively betwen clean vocals and death wheezles, the riffs are perfect and the keyboard gives depth and contrast insted of becoming an end in itself. Varied and complex without losing focus, this is definately the best record the band has put forth since their classic "The gallery" a dozen years ago.
