I'm thinking about going with two Profire 2626s and then a Beh ADA8k just in case for a total of 24. Before I do all of this I wanted to see what other options I had. Anyone want to chime in?
Personally, I'd suggest a Saffire Pro 40 over the 2626, because it has more secure drivers and support.
Do you really need to record 24 inputs at once? At the price of all of that gear, you could pick up a used FF400/800 for a similar price and have a much higher quality setup - But less inputs.

Same here, both on W7 and OsX. I've just had troubles a year or two ago with a specific version of its driver, but it was before the official driver for W7 was available, and when I switched to W7 indeed.
Reliable interface. I have more troubles with my Apogee Duet !
My Profire 2626 is amazingly stable aswell.
But is there any reason you need two of them? Why not just get an M-Audio Octane Preamp in place of that second Profire? I believe it's the same preamps and it also gives you a couple more features.
(Unless you can double your inputs to 52 instead of just 26 with two profires synced together? I've kind of been wondering this. Anyone know if it's possible?)
