"Communication Breakdown" is their worst cover (compared to how good the original is). Have to put it down to Bruce's vocals too unfortunately - they just don't work over Page-type riffs.

Remember Tomorrow (live) - from Number of the Beast....this is the one with Bruce singing...big debate over whether it's genuine, or just something they did with Maiden Japan....(I REALLY WANT THIS ENTIRE LIVE CD...apparently recorded in Milan, but who knows....Bruce is on TOP FORM singing all the Di'Anno stuff, but I'm not buying it on jewGay).

Reach Out - from Wasted Years...just because this sounds so much like Van Halen, heh...except originally recorded by the almighty Entire Population of Hackney!

The Aftermath (live) - from Angel & The Gambler....finally!! Blaze hits the notes and adds some balls to his delivery.

Futureal (live) - from The Wicker Man....proving how good a Maiden song can be when Bruce is singing it.

I can't get excited about many of the Maiden b-sides, although most are at least decent. You're right Erik, those two covers are pretty weak.

I have only heard one Maiden cover song, Cross Eyed Mary (Jethro Tull). Honestly, it was one of the most horrific musical experiences I've ever had. I hope they do other covers better than that. They probably do good Thin Lizzy covers.

Anyway, stick with the A-sides. Maiden record the B's in one quick go, mostly for a laugh and something for the fans to sing about. It's better than the umpteenth version of "Wrathchild (live)" or whatever.

Well, I have those songs in Eddies Archive -- actually, I don't have I Live My Way I don't think.

Surprisingly, Blaze Bailey sounds half decent for the first verse…only to fall apart for the rest of the song. It was just wrong, all wrong. How did they not hear the disaster in the making in the studio?

I guess they pushed Bailey to the limits and that was the best they could come up with. Poor guy. I bet he was kicking himself for quitting Wolfsbane.

2. Martin Birch retired after Fear Of The Dark he was the best producer in the whole wide world!

3. Cross Eyed Mary is a fab cover!
