I just downl.. got this game, it looks like Guitar Hero, but less fun.

Not very realist, since you can't create your own chords, but the effect stuff is fun. On the opposite, the songs given to play are really really deep shit, like Bob Marley, Nirvana, not really entertaining. Another lack is that to obtain a good succession of chords and a fluid sound, you have to destroy the screen by smashing the pen very hard on it, and it doesn't sound perfect anyway. But the recording mode is kinda cool, and it's a good thing that musical games appear on several machines.

I have to disagree on this. Instead of learning actual music, you play these kind of games and think you are learning something. The same can be said about Guitar Hero, when people actually think they can learn to play guitar this way. It's okey if you think of it as just another fun game, but it's far from a substitute from playing an actual instrument. I'm not saying you think that way, but i know some people who do.

agreed. people should actually pick up real instruments and spend their time practicing those rather than sitting in front of a screen and thinking they're actually playing music. but of course, if it's just for fun, then that's cool. just don't get the wrong mindset, like inhe said.

^ Yes. I don't tell myself "I'm learning guitar" when I play GH or something like that. I don't know people's opinion, but maybe you guys are right, a lot of them actually think they're learning something when they play, and that's really really sad. Personnaly, I play guitar games for fun, not to improve myself, for I know that pushing three yellow or blue buttons won't make me become Joe Satriani.

Whoa buddy, calm down. your metaphors are a bit exaggerated there. I didn't mean to say that they're stupid for playing GH instead of playing the real instrument. But imo, it is useless to waste countless hours of playing video games rather than doing something that's actually productive like learning a REAL instrument. that's just my opinion. i have friends that just sit around all day and smoke weed and play vid games. but hey, that's their loss, and waste of time.

Yeah, but I hate this attitude of bashing on ONE PARTICULAR thing when there's a problem. The fact that there's more Musical Games isn't bad because there's people that take that too seriously, it's a more general problem than just Musical Games. And it's even not just Games, if you want to know what I really think, I think that there's people that take life too seriously in any domain. But anyway, that's not the deal.
