Had some free time at the studio this morning so I figured I would see what this thing can do under a few mics. I have been using it live for about a month and I cant say enough GREAT things about it. I am VERY VERY impressed with this amp.

The Setup:
Cab:
Mesa OS 4x12 w/ V30s

Mics:
SM-57 - just off center of the cone
SM-57 - 45 Angle basically Fredman Style with the other 57
Audix i5 - Center of cone (not used in final product)

Head:
Jet City JCA20H totally stock

Boost:
Ibanez TS9

Rocking PINK Spectraflex Cables on this one, I bought a piss ton of them for the studio cause who the fuck in their right mind wants to use PINK cables, I figure there is less chance of some MOFO stealing them ....lol

As for POST processing:
All guitars got a High Pass at 150hz
Minor corrective EQ on guitar buss -4.8db at 2.4k with a high Q, -4.3db at 230hz with a high Q, and a high shelf at 5k with a 2.7db boost cause I thought it was a bit too dark.

Here is the final outcome, its a bit low in volume cause there was no mastering chain at all.

Sounds Great it mix perfectly with the bass and drums a little bit grainy for my tastes i'm not a fan of that Jet city amps though. How much is it?
aha Nice cables btw.

Not bad at all. Sounds pretty smooth. I think the 150 Hz hi-pass may be a bit much tho. It does sound a bit thin to me...

These are less than 200 euro on thomann right now. Crazy. Had my eye on them for a while, think I might have to see how the funds are next month and possibly spring for one. Been feeling the need to get a new head for the studio since it's been a good while since I last bought new guitar gear

Damn you are right, weren't these a tad more expensive before? I bet they just want to lose their stock quickly before the new NAMM models start to roll in. Awesome :)

On a second listen, I feel it sounds too boxy. It's got a nice character to it, but I really feel it could've used waaaay less mids, and more lows, highs, and presence.

JMO. :)
