Jeff Loomis Solo Recording

Jeff laid down a riff or 2 yesterday... probably. I'm sure Mark Arrington kicked out a few hits from his drums at some point. And Kernon probably flipped a few switches and moved a slider or 2.

There's all sorts of stuff - fast, slow, moody and aggressive. Definitely not a one-dimensional album in any respect. We have acoustics, electrics, all types of (de) tunings, and all sorts of other mysterious stringed beasts for your listening pleasure.

:)

My lips are getting wet for this one. I haven't heard a good 'guitar' album in a while, not since Jeff Beck's Jeff... and now that I think of it, Satch's Strange Beautiful Music was pretty great. And of course Mattias Eklundh....

Will there be any pinch harmonics?

The one thing I'd love to hear ( which I'm sure I will ) is a lot of depth in the overall mixes. Layers of guitars, as opposed to just a massive wall of backing guitar tracks and solos over it. I want to sit back and go, sweet, listen to the cool counter melody going against the backing track, and general stuff like that.

Stay away please from the giant, we recorded the same riff 12 times, panned it in every concievable position, so it eats up all the frequencies style.
