Just wondering if you guys will ever think of making a nice booklet that has every song with lyrics in their and with the meanings to all of your songs?

Would be nice to know, lots of them are a complete puzzle. :)

That sound slike something a band would do at the end of their career in like a farewell thing, but that would be cool i guess lol btw has any band actually done that?

Paul Kuhr from Novembers Doom wrote out an entire book giving the meaning behind all the songs in their 6 albums, but assured that it wasn't the end of their career.

i don´t think that´s gonna happen, jonas once said that he prefers people to make their own interpretation for the lyrics, i think i prefer it that way too, but i think i understand your point, in the past i always wanted to know the real meaning for everything, not only music but also paintings, movies, etc... i believe that i envied that the author was the only one keeping the real meaning, but now i prefer no to know it, ´cause sometimes i get disappointed. Katatonia´s lyrics can be interpreted in so many ways, and with time have changed the original meaning they had for me... but who knows anyway anything can happen.

I agree. Katatonia's not the band to do this

I agree Delmonica too, I get disappointed sometimes because I don't like the authors original meaning and prefer my own.
For example Soil's song, when I heard that it was about suicide bombers (well, actually it was something very easy to recognize), it has put the song in a different direction, which in my opinion didn't match that much to the song like my own former interpretation.

But that's just my opinion...

I think I rather them keep it to themselves, and keep my own thoughts of the songs for myself. I like how their lyrics have that mysterious aura around them...they can go a lot of ways so you can get so much out of them.

it's one of the most fascinating part of jonas' personality that i like, as a poet or painters often do, take private the real meaning and i let our minds work to find our personal poin of view...lovely jonas

I talked to Anders last time while they were in the states about this very thing....a booklet...a big one too....modeled somewhat after what Novembers Doom did with their new CD. The Novembers Doom book was fucking sweet too...I dont have one...I just got to look at one for a minute or 2. I believe it to have been full of the inspirations for the music/lyrics...some sweet Trav artwork etc.....who knows...maybe in the future.

the novembers doom thing was kool, but wouldnt work for katatonia. maybe we could do something similiar, but we wanna avoiding "explaining" the lyrical messages cuz thats not really for us. on a related note, maybe its time for an official tablature book tho. dont know...

A tablature book would be very nice!
I think I can say for all of the guitarplayers we've struggled quite a bit through the guitarthingies, so an official book is very welcome.

Hehe, I'm curious how much of the tabs m0rtis and I made were right
