Jorn Lande Replaces Nevermore for PPVII

Like Kitty you look at it that way, now figure my way...anyone there will probably never play in here so if I make the trip it better be superb.

Jorn does it for me ;)

That's cool that someone you're really into got added. And as a headliner to top it off. :headbang:

Ditto !! Glad you know so much of his stuff. I am warming up to him as well, but he has been put on hold. I have to get off my PC or every post I make is going to be about Mercenary.

No moshing!!! :loco: :D I tried listening to some Vagabond yesterday and just couldn't hang with it for more than a few songs. I'll be trying out some other Jorn today. I'm not really all that familiar with his stuff.

Honestly, Vagabond is the absolute *last* place to start with Jorn. That was his first band and nothing memorable at all.

If you want the power side, either Masterplan will do.
If you want the prog side, Ark- Burn the Sun will do.
If you want the melodic side, Jorn- Worldchanger will do.

I also reccomend Beyond Twilight- The Devil's Hall of Fame or Allen/Lande- The Battle.

Hey Glenn, Haven't seen you post here before. I guess you lurk on all these boards to get a feel for the fest. Thanks for the recomendations. I only have the Masterplan albums.

Leave it to me to find the bassackwards way to go about it. :tickled:

Thanks for the breakdown Glenn and thanks for the backup Kenneth R. That certainly helps. I just got done with Burn the Sun. It was a bit of a tough listen but I can see myself getting into it. I've got the Beyond Twilight in now and it's a little easier going. I'll have to find the Masterplan because I think that's where I'll really latch on.

I don't like BT but I dig a lot his work with both Millenium and Mundanus Imperium. The first for a more AOR approach and the second for a good ambient/dark approach.

Cool to see you at UMOS Glenn, thanks for all the hard work with PP :headbang:

I think Jorn is a great add to the PP band list. I think Jorn fits a PP bill better than Nevermore too. Although I like Nevermore, Jorn fits the PP style of bands better. I saw Jorn with Masterplan last year and I can tell you guys are in for a treat !! (But I'm sure you are gonna tell me ALL about that !!)

For those just getting into Jorn, I also would recommend starting with Masterplan and his later solo stuff. The Ark stuff may take a bit of listening to, get into to, but it is great, imo.

The upcoming Jorn cd "The Duke" kicks buckets of ass. I hope Jorn has enough time to play the Thin Lizzy cover "Are You Ready"

That's the one I'm waiting for. Masterplan completely took me over from first listen..then I went to the solo stuff, last Jorn disc I got was "The battle" with Russell Allen. Looking forward to getting The duke!

If he does so you better call 911 coz you'll have to get me out stiff and foaming from the aftershock :hotjump:

he should bring his masterplan members
Glenn has tried to get Masterplan to play progpower. I guess, at least now, we know it isn't Jorn who is the problem getting Masterplan over here. I am really looking forward to Jorn's set. I believe that at some point Masterplan will come over to the states to play. This is probably the only time I will get to see Jorn solo in the US.:headbang: :worship:

"The Duke" absolutely owns! :worship:
I was never much into Jorn solo stuff, but Duke took me over by surprise and I can't stop rotating it!
