just how black metal can you be?

there are a lot of black metal ppl out there that think that they're "true"
if you look at it... black metal fans are a bit like goths... "oh i'm so goth i'm dead"
but if you ever talk to some black metal musicians... you'll find out that they're in on the joke... well... the ones i've met so far are...

I hate to break it to you, but Cradle of Filth didn't invent that logo. If anything they stole it. It is a drawing of a talisman which a member or some members of the Order of the Dragon wore. The Order of the Dragon has been around since the crusades and the father of Vlad Tepes was a member of this very group. Vlad Tepes, if you didnt know, is believed to be the historical basis for Bram Stoker's Dracula. Actually, draculya translated in Romanian means son of the dragon, or son of the devil. Vlad Draculya's father was named Vlad Dracul, due to the fact that he was a fierce warrior in the Order of The Dragon.

Also, Cradle of Filth licks balls.

well enslaved is viking black metal.
they can be categorised in viking metal or black metal.. they are simply both.

Enslaved were there back then in the time of euronymous... they were hanging around with the other bunch of fuckers

I got a kick out of it. It reminds of me of those "101 ways to be Tr00 and Grim Black Metal " lists and shit like that. As far as black metal being lame or not...although they get caught up in their image for the most part and seem very cliche...alot of the time black metal is quite ingenius. It has worn out its orginality tenfold but when you think about it...what is different these days? In its day, black metal fucking was. I don't pretend to have been around back then, shit I just graduated high school two weeks ago, but this is my 5th year being involved in the metal scene and there is just NOTHING coming out that sparks my intrest as being considerably different then the rest. You have to respect the early days when playing music that actually made you feel cold and dead when you listen to it was a new thing. I'm a fan of melodic metal, and naturally I lean toward more Dissection, Emperor, Enslaved, Old Man's Child and Immortal, but I don't put down any of them. Furthermore, to demean the genre because of what its perceived as and what the majority has turned it into makes us no different than the outsiders who think that all metal music is angry and primitive when they hear the growls and grunts of some of the best poets known to man.
