Vocals always mean a lot for me.
So this was why I bought The Black Waltz. I recently listened again to "The Third, The Magical" the only song I really love because it has deep grunts.

There are few melodic death metal bands who use growling. The only other melodic band who uses it is Insomnium afaik.

What do you prefer?

STFU about people comparing COB to Kalmah. They are a similar band and SHOULD be mentioned if you are comparing kalmah to something. They are not exactly the same but hell, theyre one of the closest there is.

^that's why you don't complain and just ignore it. kind of like what parents should do to their kids when something bad comes on TV or radio...turn the fucking thing off. don't go complaining and suing because you're too big of a dumbass to hit the off or channel up/down button....

screeching? i don't know if i would call it that. screeching reminds me of something in flames does, and i absolutely hate those vocals. i think both the older vocals and newer ones should have been used.

the growling of the black waltz is what got me into Kalmah

i tried to get into them before but really didn't digest the vocals. the guitar work was awesome, thats why when i heared that Kalmah had a change in vocal style, and it is now deep growls i was like "shit, it's gonna sound awesome" and here i am, i actually now really enjoy the previous work too

i'd think the best IMO would be deep growls all the way with bits of screeches here and there, the reverese of what was on swampsong :headbang:

I can't decide... both styles are good. I care more about melodies and drums than about the vocals anyway. But well, if I would have to decide I would say growling.
