kick mic preference?

hey guys, just wondering what yer fave kick mic's are? I personally have a beta 52 and an akg d112.

i love combining a dynamic like d112, re20 with a PZM there's got to be a PZM in the kick!!!

I have only really had experience with a D112 and a D6. I preferred the D6, had a really nice low end.

I like Sennheiser E602. Haven't used my Beta52 since I bought the Senn' 1½ years ago.

Beta52 for the most part here too. However, for my own setup I'm getting an Audix D-6...they win in shootouts over B52's all the time, so I'm very anxious to acquire one.

Me too. Sometimes the RE20 is cool too. I don't really care for the D112.
I definitely still need to check out the D6 since everyone is raving.

i think the object is to get a fuller sound out of the kick. im pretty sure that a pzm inside the kick is the outdated version of a subkick.

the pzm gives you the "smack" no other mic can give you, it's like it's got already that eq on it most of us is using,would never use it on a jazz recording etc, but for me a must in metal-recordings
