Am I the only one who simply cannot stand this dudes voice? It's ridiculous! I mean, it just sounds absolutely horrible. He can't stay in tone, his voice is all over the place when it shouldn't be, no emotion - nothing good at all about his voice. I've listened to one Mercyful Fate album, and while I loved the music, King Diamond physically made my ears hurt. And I felt really bad, because I knew I was missing out on awesome music.

Agreed. Entirely. I think some fantastic music has, quite frankly, been soiled by possibly the worst vocalist I have ever heard.

No, because everyone who isn't retarded knows that staying in tune doesn't equate to being a good singer. James LaBrie is always in tune on record, are you going to tell me he's great too?

King Diamond has no pleasant tone, no warm vibrato, and to be honest the non-falsetto vocals are so embarassing I feel like no put-down would be harsh enough. Yes, he's distinctive and doing something different, good for him. But he is NOT a good singer.

And I'm not deaf. Nor am I retarded. In fact, I'll wager good money I'm smarter than you, considering you feel a need to specifically call somebody else a retard. I wouldn't have minded if you called my opinion retarded, but I am NOT a retard.

lager isn't really a method, it's the type of yeast used. and on the whole (few exceptions) there are many more "refreshing" ales than there are lagers. stella artois is ok.
