King Diamond-Live

I got a sampler in the mail for the upcoming Live double disc set.
While it's only six tracks, after hearing the thing from start to finish, I have to say that, I haven't been this excited about a live record since...
You know I can't even think of one. This has me geeked about ta possible live DVD too. You can't have the "live" music without the visula stuff that is happening on stage. It's still about a month out in the states...

I have bought some live cds, but I end up not listening to them for more than 2 times.

What is so good about this one?, I have to say, I wasn't interested in it before this.

cheese, I know what you mean. I gotta have it too!
Yeah man, I love live stuff even just a live cd. It lets you get to experience the show that you missed that day, or re-experience the show that you got to go to. I've got Pantera-Live 101 proof, Iron Maidens live one, Dio-Last in live, and Lynyrd Skynyrd-Gimme back my bullets(has some live tracks and studio tracks) and Danzig-Demonsweat live, with Mother studio version on track 93.
On vidio I have Anthrax, Pantera-1-3, and S.O.D-The movie-Kill yourself, It's not really a movie but it's cool to watch,(extra you can't buy, Season the obese, only available special order. unless you bootleg it)performances from their first tour ever, and it's funny too especially Billys' voices, and also Manowar-Hell on earth. good vidio but they are so full of themselves, and the constant beer guzzeling on stage gets very old very fast.

I will definitely be grabbing this one right away when it comes out. Although his newer material I wouldn't call fantastic, he definitely owns in a live environment. Hearing all those classics live is worth the price alone, be it "Sleepless Nights", "A Mansion In Darkness", "Burn", etc., that is just classic Metal!!

King Diamond= :headbang: :worship:

What is the sound / mix / production like?
I've read a review somewhere where King states that it's very "honest" with very little studio 'doctoring'.

That can either be a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on the band.

Is the sound similar to the "official bootleg", King's Abigail:Live in Concert 1987 disc (which sounds terrible). Does it sound like the live tracks on the 1994 Mercyful Fate ep, "The Bell Witch" (where the live tracks' music was great, but King's vox were a little strained)?

Best live album ever:
Rainbow - On Stage

I love listening to live albums by bands right through. If you went, you can relive it in a way, if you didn't, you can hear how amazing it was, providing it WAS good.

I downloaded (payed) for the Dublin Metallica gig, holy fuck, It's well worth the money, and it'll be the same when I get my hands on the King Diamond live album, downloaded Mansion in Darkness from the site, it's brilliant, I can't wait.

KD's vocals aren't as sharp, but better than those on the E.P. Which again backs his claims that the record is an "Honest" representation of the band... It's not a slick sounding record, it has some imperfections that were left on...

I hate when that happens.^
I hate GnR live especially on video, White Zombie is terrible live, he's just like Axle running around onstage and always out of breath and not singing half the time missing lines and stuff. It's very annoying.
Yeah, well, no one, but no one, tops Vince Neil of Motley Crue!
You pay $35.00 to see a show & that lazy fucker wants you to sing to him!:tickled:

I'm ashamed to admit that i own NO King Diamond CDs, maybe this live set would be a good place to start.
I don't know about the live record. I would start with either of the best of's from Mercyful Fate & or KD that Roadruner has issued. There's also a best of Mercy/KD called "A Dangerous Meeting" that would be a good introduction to both bands...

I don't care what anyone says, I'm gittin' it, I love King Daimond. I really wish I had some live footage but can never find any, and I don't like the idea of a credit card and don't have one, so I can't buy stuff off the inetrnet. I think I'll have to get one anyway.

I went on ebay and got an abigail tour dvd, and paid with money order, if that is any help to you. It had bootleg dvd quality, but hey, it is oldschool king!!!
