Kuttes/patch vests question

I know a few of you have em on here, and I was just wondering...

do you sew the patches on or can you iron them on? Can you only iron certain ones?

I'm looking to start my own kutte, and I don't want to fuck it up too majorly. cheers!

Ironing is okay if you plan on sewing it too, but they fall off more easily after a while if you just iron.
