Kvelldsanger--Ulver

i'd agree with that statement if only applied to their black metal and neo-folk material. their newer direction (and especially blood inside) on the other hand is something they can completely call their own, imo.

The problem with Ulver is that at its core it is pop music disguised as whatever the band members are listening to at the time.. whether black metal, folk, electronic. Someone tell this band that instruments and styles DO NOT OF THEMSELVES make songs. They'll need to put something more there if they want me to stay awake during their next album.
that's what makes Nattens Madrigal so great.
"Haven't I heard this on the radio somewhere...wait, no, this is black metal...or is it...lulz"
but regarding their other releases...you are an idiot.

rofl. guess he entered some kind of "Who's a Bigger Dumbass" competition with metal_wrath

It's the only Ulver album I have. I would really like to hear some of their black metal stuff.
Kveldssanger is actually one of my favorite albums at the moment. It wasn't too long ago I got it and I really do enjoy it.

you should really want to hear perdition city or blood inside before you hear nattens or maybe even bergtatt. imo

Ulver is actually really good music to listen to on the road too i find, never a bad moment to listen to them, Truly satisfying everytime. Angel-MA is a fantastic driving tune too, But i cant turn it up that loud as speakers cant handle the low frequency of the bass, awesome to watch the cones suffer at the start of that one. ha.

Someone here posted a link to an Ulver track not too long ago. A track I really liked -- it was much better than anything on Blood Inside, and definitely better than Nattens. I'd like to hear that whole album, but now I can't find that thread so I don't even know what the song is called. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Best part in Freak on a Leash. Incredible lyricism. Garm could learn something from that.
