You have got to be kidding! Maybe Its because I play drums in an Iron Maiden tribute band that I disagree, but we all have other bands too!
I'm in 2 other bands that are all original. Lets face it, people love maiden, and they love hearing it live, even if its for free at some dive bar, played by total strangers. The audience has fun, and we have alot of fun playing.
Finally, playing (and listening to) Iron Maiden songs is not for the lazy or stupid.
I wont comment on other tribute bands though, not that I agree about the stupid and lazy part, cause ANY band takes some amount of energy.
As for the Iron Maidens, I believe they probably rule live. I would go see em.

Devil i don't think there's anything wrong with the manowar fans.They are very loyal to Manowar and Heavy Metal in general. The problem is Manowar (from what i've read in many interviews) and the way they behave to other bands .

The Iron Maidens rules!
The Iron Maidens are the best tribute band for IM! I've heard a bunch of different Maiden tribute bands,none of them was this close to the real thing like these girls! Even the "boys" agreed to giving them the license to release their full-length tribute CD. They're awesome in live,(they have their own little stage show with walking Eddies,etc.)and the aforementioned CD proves that they have excellent musician skills. Anybody who thinks that they suck, is a fucking retard,regardless if one likes tribute bands,or not! Aja Kim is a great singer,and no,she's not trying too hard to be someone,she's already established herself as a singer,by releasing her own songs(as you can find it on her myspace page)and she's having fun with The Iron Maidens,'cos she loves this music.Wanda Ortiz is a cutie,and an excellent bass-player,she just needs a bit more attitude on stage.Sara Marsh(guitar),and Linda McDonald(drums)are both awesome on their own instruments,they also have a great rock'n'roll attitude,they are the heart of the band,and they are also plays in an Ozzy tribute band.The relatively new-comer in the band is Heather Baker,and as I've heard on the Route 666 CD,she's playing Adrian Smith's solos (and those solos are pretty difficult to play right!) like a dream! So there you are,here's 5 talented,good-looking girls,and if one thinks that they're talentless,then one need to be shot in the head!

Which is utter bollocks for a start considering all the members have or had their own projects. And as for being lazy, do you have any idea how much time and effort is put in to getting the songs exactly right. I've synched up some of their versions of the songs together and every note, every drum beat, every word is absolutely dead on and that is not the work of someone who "couldn't be bothered".

As for the whole, 'I don't like tribute bands thing'. I think that's fair enough, I mean I'm in one (not a Maiden one) and have been at it for a while now and the only arguement that keeps coming up against is 'I'd rather listen to the real thing than a tribute' so I respect that opinion.

Nobody said that, I certainly didn't. But if you'd get you facts right you'd know that they have written their own songs at one time or another. Learn to read before posting.
Maiden songs are not the easiest to learn either, especially if you're tackling something like Seventh Son or Phantom Of The Opera.

When I read that comment, I read it and knew it was a joke saying that they literally suck dick, as in oral sex. I'm pretty sure thats what he was getting at, not that they really are terrible.

As for the lady Maidens - it's always a great show. They also play songs the band has long since dropped from their setlist, which I consider to be a real treat. Oh - on top of that - they are genuinely nice bunch of people, unlike many of you who post here with your needlessly negative and immature comments.

Well said Darth!! Tribute bands are an opportunity to see the music you love performed live instead of having to wait a few years until the real thing come round. I don't see why people hate them so much. It's just people who're genuine fans of the band performing the music they love.
Go listen to Arch Enemy if you wanna hear what that really sounds like.
