What is your guy's opinion on this band? I know a lot of people around here seem to dislike them, but I enjoy them thoroughly and they are one of the first bands that got me into metal that still haven't lost their touch for me.

well what songs have you heard? also it depends on what you like. all their albums are pretty different.

but i would get new american gospel or ashes of the wake.

seen them live twice (they were opening for bands i wanted to see)... honestly i find them to be pretty bad... lots of chugga chugga nonsense and metalcorish vox... not my thing... still better than many other bands in that style that i've heard

the cover on guitar hero sucks ASSS. the original is much better.

and their new album is meh. and that would be all the stuff on their myspace.

Same, minus the guitar hero, I also heard a song at my brother's house, lots more CHUG CHUG Squeal (over use of AH is mind numbing).

Listen to New American Gospel and Burn the Priest.
As the Palaces Burn and Ashes of the Wake are also great, but those two are the most metal.
I still love LoG and they were my favorite band for a long ass time. I've come to like a few bands more, now, but they're still up there for me. Plus their lyrics are awesome (pre Sacrament).

I too was a huge LoG fan for a couple years before I started delving more into black/death. But yea their BTP cd is still pretty fucking sweet. I can still enjoy everything pre-Sacrament. But I barely listen to them now, theres so much I'd rather listen to.

Yea I know, I was expecting them to make something relatively sweet after AotW but they just epic failed with Sacrament.

Redneck is the only song that indicates this even slightly.
Pantera is a major influence for them, but they show no redneck persona prior to that song.
Might I add that Redneck is their worst song by an impossible amount.

I don't like them at all. Not only are the 10 songs that I've heard, as WeAreInFlames said, mediocre to shit, but they are just (to me) an overrated band, especially with high school kids with mass amounts of angst.
