Lamb of god

New American Gospel and As the Palaces Burn are alright, they're pretty heavy and groovy, i don't like the newer stuff though because the heavy production is gone and it sounds thin and shitty.

I really like the singer's vocals, but the music is just...I dunno...MEH.

I've heard better riffs, better drumming, better solos, and overall better songs from bands who are virtually unknown. It's always the lowest common denominator that makes the most money.

I enjoy them. Kind of on the back burner once I got into some harder stuff, but still an enjoyable listen for me.

Fav tracks are "For Your Malice", "Break You", "Remorse Is For The Dead", and "Beating On Death's Door".

:zombie:

New American Gospel and Burn the Priest are not "core" in the least bit.

Oh, and their best songs are (in order)
Hourglass
As the Palaces Burn
Black Label
Another Nail For Your Coffin
Terror and Hubris in the House of Frank Pollard
Ruin
Bloodletting

As for Sacrament, Walk With Me in Hell, Descending, and Blacken the Cursed Sun are the only songs that stand out on the album.

@AchrisK... Did you say you've never heard them? How can you criticize a band if you've never heard them? Once again, aside from the song Redneck (which FUCKING SUCKS) they have no Redneck persona, which confuses me as to why everyone keeps saying this. They're only this generation's Pantera in the sense of where they are in the metal scene. The have the same type of rowdy fans and play the same type of metal, and are probably metal's most popular act right now, (not counting the various "core" bands out there) just as Pantera was in the 90's. If you haven't heard them, at least check out a few songs from NAG before you write them off, you might be surprised.

At fleshmountain: I believe some of the lyrics are read wrong or backward on that album, as I read someone say in a review about that.

I wouldnt be suprised, I literally sat there one time forever just trying to figure out wtf he's saying lol. Sry I havent been on yahoo in a long time derek, I'm usually playing WoW at night now.

I never really criticized them, I just expressed my extreme lack of interest in hearing them, especially based on the descriptions given by people on both sides of the issue. See?

Even you said they "play the same type of metal" as Pantera. Dude, I hate Pantera! I hate their type of metal, and I hate that it got so popular with all these new kids. I hate that they all thought Pantera was the very definition of metal, when there had already been so much amazing metal before them, most of which was far superior to them. I also hated their tough-guy persona.

But for you I will try to make an effort to hear something from NAG.

At fleshmountain aka Dustin: Oh ok, I wish you'd get on Yahoo sometime. I'm on from 10-11 30 PM almost every night. But I hope you're enjoying WoW. The only videogame I've bee playing lately is Mario Kart for the Gamecube, I heard a Severed Torture song too yesterday, the main riff in it was good. :)
At Winter: Yeah, LoG can be somewhat monotonous, still a good band though.
