Learned something intresting about firepods

My friend informed me of this fact tonight. that if you connect 2 firepods together it cuts you sample rate in half. Nice huh? Tech support told him this. apparently their discontinuing the firepod for the Firestudio which doesn't have the same problem.

That's true, but the only thing you loose is 96khz sampling rate with multiple firepods. You still can record at 44.1 or 48 if you want. But to be honest, I never saw a reason to record at anything other than 44.1/24-bit. I would just end up down sampling for a CD anyways so might as well stay at the target rate.

Yeah as a home recording dude this isn't really an issue for me.

Just to let you know as well, if your using a Mac and you chain 2 Firepods together it disables the S/PDIF input functions on the Firepod
