He always tells me how being an adult sucks,

My guitar teacher is basically an 18 year old metal head trapped in a 38 year old's body

A lot of guys into metal (true metal) are leftover from the good ol' days and are as you described trapped in an older body.

The only thing about aging that sucks I guess would be physical appearance/performance I guess.

As they say, people aren't afraid of growing older, they are afraid of growing uglier.

I'm always looking to learn more theory, I'm not that much into theory, I stopped learning years ago and recently got back in a band and have forgotten most of it.

I had trouble trying to relate it to what I was playing and couldn't figure out why so and so added extra notes into his solos/chords and came to the realisation that it just sounded good so I thought that is what matters.
