Lionheart

I actually really like the title track and "The Return" that precedes it! Witch Finder General and Beyond the Grave are also instant favs but the album does have the kind of depth that only becomes apparent after many listens, in my opinion anyway! I like that kind of album best because they seem to be the ones that grow into favourites and last longer.

Im really looking forward to where Lionheart will take Saxon next!!!

Yeah i agree.Lionheart is such a strong album.I think it has a real punky raw kinda feel to it.I am still enjoying it so in my books thats a good album and one i think i shall be listening to for a long time.

I gotta totally agree with Valanx. It is the sort of album that doesn't really grab you at first. But after a few listens, you realise what a fantastic album it is. One of Saxons best in my opinion.

As for Lionheart the song. I really really love this song. For me, it is a classic Saxon song. In fact, I think it is so good that it should be a forever present on the live setlist. Along side songs like 747, Wheels Of Steel, Princess Of The Night etc.

I think the album is excellent as well, but my favorite track on this one would have to be English man 'o' war... the lyrical imagery makes me think of being alongside Lord Nelson on HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar... it is a sweet song with a killer grove... a real head banger...

The strange thing is that if you read what Biff said about the fire, and hearing someone shouting "Wake up now", then 'Beyond The Grave' becomes quite a relevant song!

Also, the words for 'Searching For Atlantis' become very sufficient. The song is about searching for happiness, or maybe having happiness but not knowing what is around the next corner that is going to ruin that happiness. It is all quite spooky the way things have turned out for Biff.

I can't find Biffs statement:confused: .
3rd October 2005Well it's about time I said something!First of all I would like to say thank you to everybody who sent messages after the fire it was a bad period in our lives but you have to go on and try and make something good from out of the bad. We are now in a new house much bigger than the last one and everybody is starting to put their lives back together. The fire started at five in the morning when we were all in bed [you may believe this or not?] But somebody or something shouted wake up really loud and I just shot up bolt upright the room was full of smoke I woke my wife and we got the children out of there bedrooms by this time the flames were dropping though the ceiling so we had a very lucky escape who it was I do not no I have lost both my parents and some good friends along the way anyway that's how it was.On a lighter note, Nigel is back in the band after 7/8 years we have been rehearsing in the UK and it sounds great like he never left! We have to say farewell to Jorg who has left the voyage early and we did not have time say a drunken farewell but we will real soon Jorg anyway we are all looking forward to the tour.See you soon -------------------------------------------------Its on THIS page click below http://www.saxon747.com/frame.html
