for the first time in nearly a year, probably.

Damn, that's a good album. I like the sound of the last few albums, but "Among" may still be their best album. Every song is good. Every song is urgent. It's just a great album.

Interesting. I put it on my CD player last week and after only one listen I had to put it out... because of the vocals. No offense, the music and songs are great, but the vocals really suck ass. Especially after I'd heard Among The Living, Caught In A Mosh, I Am The Law and others with John.

ATL was the album that got me into Anthrax. It had excitement equalled by none other. The album still today is totally ball crushing, but now I must admit I prefer the Bush era Thrax, especially WCFYA.

it does take a bit of getting used to I think. My first album was SOWN, then I got SOE, then POT...and more bush stuff...the vocals are so different and style in music as well...but I still loved both eras.

as good a album as this is i still have a soft spot in my heart for spreading the disease. Among is great but I am not a big fan of Nfl(sorry), indians, or one world. There are only two songs on spreading i don't really like, medusa, and aftershock, but to be honest aftershock is a pretty cool song so maybe just one. What can I say STD brings back alot of great memories for me, but Among is a close second. POT is just fucking dark as hell and SOE is alot lighter. I guess if I was to put these albums in order it would go STD, ATL, POT, and SOE. Many people consider among a classic, which it is, but to me there are more weak spots then on STD. (plus I always thought it was cool that it was Spreading the Disease(STD) it just makes sense. I wonder if the guys planned it that way? anyone know?

I listen to STD more than any other Anthrax album. This is mostly because I have it on cassette and my car has no CD player. So STD gets a LOT of time with me. I like the album as well, although I can definitely hear that it's a combination of material written with Turbin combined with the "new" sound (at the time) of Belladonna. But it rules, completely.

I think ATL sounds more consistent throughout than STD and I think Belladonna sounds more natural on ATL. IOW, he fits the musical style a little better.

I remember buying Among the Living when it came out and it blew my head off ( i was about 14 years old) and I still listen to it.

Its a metal masterpiece
