So I was looking at the Red Eye today, melting over the features like a little bitch with her first crush on her English teacher. Anyway... I checkout the price and it's like over £200 !

WTF. Think of all the milf porn I could buy for that. Good job I never pay for porn.

So it got me thinking; are these units technologically advanced or something? Essentially aren't they just converting signal impedance levels? So why is it so expensive, and could you make your own for like a quarter of the price?

Just throwing the thought out there really, because it seemed overly expensive to me. You can almost get a whole new Profire 2626 audio interface for that amount.

Think of what a DI Box would cost alone, plus a Reamping Box.
Example: Countryman DI Box + Radial PRO RMP Box = (300&#8364 260 GBP
Or the Radial Reamping Kit = (360&#8364 315 GBP

Mine came in a box that was 3 x 6 x 8, but I guess it all depends on who is shipping it.

They aren't very wide *about as wide as your typical ART DI box* but they are pretty deep.

Ah you're right! I was under the impression the Red Eye was basically the IBP without the phase tools, but I am quite wrong.

Sorry about the off topic question but, if I got a Red Eye box, what else would I need to use with for recording DI tracks with my computer? I'm a noob at DI boxes because I've never been able to use one
