Live in Raleigh, NC

I'll be at that show. Can't wait! I just read that as well about DT cancelling. Darnit! Maybe we'll get lucky and get a longer Opeth set.

i waited too long to get my ticket and of course got fucked. who knew that there was so many opeth fans around here?

i saw them in november at ziggys so its not too big a dissappointment and with DT cancelled I wont be missing a piece of life for god's sake. oh well. enjoy the show.

i am also surprised they sold out. maybe cause Raleigh don't get shit for shows.

hoping for longer DTB set also!!!

A longer set would be awesome.

I'm about to go to class, and then we're gonna hit the road. 3.5 hours, I think. blasting death metal all the way.

This is my first post on this forum, but I will be at the show in raleigh. I'm leaving as soon as I get out of school.

It takes about 3 hours for me to drive from Chapel Hill to Hendersonville... so yeah, 3.5 hours sound about right. Have a good trip man. Maybe we'll all see each other at the show? I'll be the one with the long hair and going "TOO MUCH ROCK FOR ONE HAND \mm/"

Maybe you can still go? Now that DT has cancelled some people will want their money back for sure... Then there are always scaplers >.>

"Wow a crappy shirt for $60 and a free ticket?! How can I loose?"

Just got back from the show, here's the setlist:

Ghost Of Perdition
White Cluster
The Drapery Falls
Closure
The Grand Conjuration
Deliverance
Under The Weeping Moon
The Baying Of The Hounds

encore:

Demon Of The Fall

Opeth was great as always, and the highlight was definitely Under The Weeping Moon.

Devy was great too....bought his new album at the merch stand after the show

Am I the only one who's disappointed with the set list? :D

Right before doors opened, a guy came out and announced that since DT had cancelled, Opeth would be playing the Chronology set. I popped several Opeth-boners, but........it didn't happen. Oh well, I got Peter's pick.

Incredible, awesome show. best Opeth show i've been to yet, i'll post some pics and a short video of the verse from "Drapery" pretty soon hopefully. My neck hurts. i'm going to sleep.

Sheesh. I take it Martin Lopez is not on the tour. . . . ? That's a disappointment. I'll still enjoy the show Friday night, but I was really hoping. . . ah well. I saw Opeth back in Novemeber with Axe, he's a fine drummer and a quick study but Opeth without Lopez is like sushi without wasabi. What has become of Martin? Will he ever tour with them again?

I had to miss them last night too unfortunately. I did get to see them in Winston Salem in November though. I wish they'd come to the Cat's Cradle too, but lately the Cradle hasn't gotten in crap for shows. I don't know what their problem is, that place's shows have gone way down hill.

I'm especially sad, because they played closure, and that is one of my favorite Opeth songs of all time. But next time, I'm going no matter what.

Yeah, I was so exicted when the guy announced that they were going to play the Chronology set.. Just think how awesome that would have been! A setlist that was only going ot be played in 3(?) cities would have been a real treat.. But they had lost their guitar petals... and you could tell Mikael was tired (or wasted) as fuck... so that was probably the reason why they didn't play the chronology set... I guess being the first show on a tour can be a disadvantage. Regardless, it was an awesome show indeed and I Loved every bit of it. I can't wait until they come back through, and maybe the band will be in more of a better shape to play.

But simply awesome show. I can easily say, it was the best concert I've ever been to.

And the extended part was played... but Mikael didn't switch from acoustic to ekectric, he stayed on electric.

BTW, was it just me, or did he seem kinda fed up with the crowd in the beginning?

yeah, i didnt get to go to the show either. When they were in winston-salem my car broke down that day (among other things) and i couldnt go. this time was work....shouldve called out sick
