Great stuff. Thx SPLASTiK, feel free to share a few more songs :D

That's the only one I have. The guy who taped the whole show posted that MP3 on a bootlegging forum I visit as a preview (I'm also taper, taping Milwaukee).

any new jokes from mike?

My buddy had called his friend, held up his cell phone and yelled "Mike, say what's up!" and Mike growled "WHATS UP".

But honestly, he just looked really fucking tired...he seemed at a loss for words sometimes, and would just stare out into the crowd for a few seconds at a time. Jetlagged as all hell AND pissed as hell about their GT-6s, i'm sure, but he still put on an awesome show. Really professional, and still a nice guy.

I'm gonna play ONE Opeth song with Peter's pick and then retire it. What should I play?

It's a bootlegging/taping forum, not a bootleg forum. We discuss microphones, recording gear, etc. http://www.taperssection.com

If you're looking to download bootlegs there's:
http://db.etree.org - sometimes has metal, but you can search by band and find trader's lists with specific shows.
http://www.dimeadozen.org - has a big metal section
http://www.metalbootlegdatabase.com - currently down as they're changing server providers, but as the name says...
http://kerrazy-torrents.net - has a bootleg section and great for metal torrents

If you heard the Opeth bootleg from Sounds of the Underground, Vancouver, BC that was me. Not one of my better tapings though by any means, that venue was horrid.

lol @ posting bootlegs on the band's official forum

The bootlegs would not be available if the band did not allow taping at the shows. There is an understanding between the tapers and the band that the bootlegs will not be used for profit. They are simply to trade among fans. Anyone who would try to profit off of these is not a fan if they would disrespect the band like that. These sort of tapings have gone on for many years really becoming widespread around the times of the Grateful Dead. The individuals who bring the taping rigs to shows understand the ethics behind using them. ;)

Thanks a ton man. I'm familiar with db.easytree.org. I use them a lot for other types of music that I'm into (primarily jamband type stuff). I usually try to find shows taped using Neumann mics. I've found them to have the best clarity. Thanks again. :headbang:

But even then, who's to stop us? ;)

Opeth has stated they support recording their shows for trade but their label doesn't.
You have to register and sign in for kerrazy for the stuff to show up. Good site, loads of members.
Dimeadozen is amazing too if you get the chance to sign up.
