Local news

It's beyond me why beer is considered a men's drink.

In my view, it is because plenty of males find it hard to cope with the fact that women are also capable of eructation, flatulence and other forms of 'dirty' activities and actions our bodies are capable of, which are, because of that, 'manly' forms of natural expression.
Beer consumption is, as we all know, closely associated with all aforementioned activities, and is, therefore, a 'male' drink.

Trust me, I can burp and fart no worse than any man :D It's just that I either do it in private, or when the inevitable happens in public I say "pardon me" ;)
And I love beer. :kickass:

That's exactly what I am saying. Men and women do it on an equal level (okay, that would require another scientific study, but let's say it's equal), but plenty of men cannot come to terms with that fact.

I've met plenty of people (males, again) who have expressed this sort of discriminatory behavior - that women can't, and more importantly, shouldn't fart, burp, take a crap, whatever - I personally connect this sort of bigotry with the whole beer situation, and other similar stuff.

I am not a feminist by any means, but some shit I cannot take freely and easily.

Still, I appreciate a dose of well-mannerism from all people, regardless of sex

That reminds me of some other girls that I know - they always wonder how can I drink beer as "it tastes so horrible".
And I always answer that it's only a question of accustoming. Besides beer (at least most of them) does taste good. ;)

Wrote to the local distributor to ask about "Circle". The guy said they don't have it yet and hopes to get it by Friday. Well, me too!!!

Edit:

Just to add insult to injury, iPhone crashed for no obvious reason - almost everything disappeared, contacts most importantly. Thank gods I backed up everything in the cloud last weekend, so it wasn't that much of a loss. But I should back up more often - Apple products, however seldom, also tend to FUBAR.
Finally got my Century Media Metal For The Masses 25 Alive special edition of Paradise Lost's "In Requiem". I do love special editions, especially PL's - they always throw in some nice bonus stuff. I guess Nuclear Blast should learn from Century Media.

Worst spring flooding in 30 years expected, caused by exceptionally fast melting of snow.

One of the most prominent Bulgarian rock musicians, Petar "Petsi" Gyuzelev, passed away today. So I am having a beer in his memory, reminiscing how he was the first rock star I ever met - I was 7 and he was the father of a classmate of mine - he looked like something from another world.
May God rest his soul! (He was a devout Christian)

Certainly not local news, but I guess I could post it here.

I believe that everyone has heard about it, but nonetheless, I will write it.

Jeff Hanneman has died, aged 49.
I may not be a fan, but Hanneman was certainly a very important and influential figure in the metal world, and deserves respect.

RIP

Yeah, this sucks :( It was the first thing I found out about this morning :(((((
I guess it must have been that spider bite that killed him in the end :(
It was otherwise a perfect day off.

The tenants on the fourth floor are having a classic case of domestic violence. That son of a bitch beat the shit out of the woman and the kid is screaming its head out - I heard it all.
I just can't stand this kind of shit, so I called the cops. They are yet to make an appearance (called them half an hour ago and the station is just a block away).

I imagine that Hanneman was on a lot of either steroids or antibiotics as part of his treatment. That stuff can't be good for a liver that is already fairly beat up by the lifestyle.

Wonder which band will turn his story into a song first. It's pretty metal.

Flesheater: a Jeff Hanneman tribute album.

Not being sarcastic or disrespectful here. Dude who wrote Angel of Death would have to appreciate where this idea is coming from.

Cops came, she denied it all - said the kid broke a glass and this caused a disturbance. Such a fucking classic!
Next time I won't call the cops. - The stupid cow deserves it.

The Depeche Mode gig last night was killer. I just love this band! Whoever has the chance - go see it, you won't regret it!

Special kudos go to Anton Corbijn for the video and lights. - The man is a fucking genius.

Heh.

Even funnier, this is also how the band's name is printed in Nyt (Helsingin Sanomat's weekly supplement), which happens to be Jussi A's workplace. Maybe he's on a holiday practicing his bass chops. ;) An actual news article announcing this rare event is found here, although strictly speaking, "Helsinki death metal legend" is inaccurate - the band was born in our oft-overlooked neighboring town, Vantaa.

A man ordered a prostitute. Much to his surprise, his wife, all dressed up like a prostitute, turned up at the date.
They divorced.
