london gig

They kicked some ass once again!

* The Leper Affinity
* Godhead's Lament
* Deliverance
* Advent
* Credence
* The Drapery Falls
* Serenity Painted Death
* A Fair Judgement
------ Encore ------
* Harvest
* Demon Of The Fall

Not sure if this is the right order..

EDIT: AND they're playing in Greece soon, but that's a surprise. I'll be back for that ;P

advent was second i think and credence was definitely after the drapery falls.

that's one of the best performances i've seen opeth do. it was leagues better than a few months ago, but then Mikael was in good health this time :)

the sound was actually awesome i think. the guy in the la2 is a genius! it's always good there. Madder Mortem came across really well too for a first uk show. very tight set.

Credance was gorgeous, Harvest was F**kin excellent - as was Drapery Falls. That was the best of the 3 Opeth gigs I've seen so far - I'm in danger of turning into a fan!

I went along principally to see Madder Mortem but I was hugely disappointed. I thought that the sound could have been better - as could the singing. Music was plodding and boring too - at least Opeth was enjoyable.

Hahaha, I do believe I saw you there Phon1c!

I was the guy in the front row right in front of Mikael

The sound last night was stunning :)

That really good vibe and high energy level that is unique to Opeth shows kicked in about half way through the set. Well, i felt it anyway :)

Mikael's soloing was particularly inspired last night. It's always a privilege to see any musician when the creative channels are flowing that well. Uplifting experience.

best opeth gig i've been to out of the 3. queuing for 3 hours before, got Martin Lopez (thusforth known as the coolest drummer of all time) to sign my ticket, woohoo. the performance was special and well 10 songs, did/are they do that for every gig? i think what sums it up best is the fact that one guy for demon of the fall crowd surfed, got pulled to the front by security, put back in the crowd, and then repeated it another 5-6 times just for the last song...

Haha!! During "Demon of the Fall" I was kicked in the head about 3 - 4 times by loads of different crowd surfers. I thought there were a lot for the Haunted, but "Demon of the Fall" proved that wrong.

I queued for 4 hours and was at the front of the queue (yes I'm a complete madman), BUT, I caught Mikael (my musical God) walking around the corner, and I was so shocked to see him I shoulted out "MIKE!!!!!", and he turned and saw me, and he signed my ticket :). Then later on, I caught 3/5 of Madder Mortem outside, and told my friend Chris to go and buy a pen, and we got them to sign some paper I had in my pocket. THEN, much later, Chris noticed Martin Lopez standing outside, he signed our tickets!

Today my neck hurts!

what an incredible gig....

and i didn't even get too pushed around and managed to see all thanks to my trusty big boots :)

oh yeah btw who were those guys who filled the condom with water and stuck it up on the wall haha cos that was very amusing...i was abit behind you...
X

Credence was incredible, especially as I knew all the lyrics. Advent was sweet too.

The only song I would have (really really) liked to hear, which they didn't play, would have to be When.

It was my first time to see what imo are an excellent band (other then the cure).:)
