So after I got robed, I decided to buy my self a Baritone Guitar!
My price range is only 600-800. Any recommendations? I've checked out ESP/LTD mhb400, Schecter C-1 EX Baritone Blackjack, & a Ibanez MMM1 Mike Mushok Signature Baritone....... Have any of you great people played these & how do they fair out for recording?

Yes I got a alarm system & I should have a big mean dog soon! :kickass:

Please respond, as I want to make this happen fast!
Be good & best wishes for the holidays to all!!!:danceboy:

Bidding has ended for this item, I was to late lol.
I hear the MMM1 is very heavy. How about them "Custom Super pickups" how do they sound compared to say some EMG's?

They are crap. Unless you like how Staind sounds, I wouldn't use them. They have a MUCH lower output than a set of actives do. I have had EMG's in my MMM1 and now I have a set of Live Wires, and the active PU's made the guitar come alive.

Thanx for the info, err I'm still very undecided. There are ugly anyways IMO (PU's) Any one else had any experiences with these models?(look to 1st post)

Our Agile Baritone impresses everybody that picks it up in the studio. It's a great guitar. The only piece that sucks is the battery cover.

Battery cover does look funny, but it's in the back .... I can deal with that. Wow! it doesn't cost much! Be so much easier If I could play it. All opinion's are welcome. The more info the better.

Don't let the price fool you. The guitar has more sustain than 99% of the guitars that have passed through our studio. Very impressive.

I know there are a couple other forum members with the same guitar.

The Agile Baritone is my primary guitar. Just like stated above, everyone who picks it up is blown away by it. I own 3 of them. For the price, there is no better baritone. It records killer too.

www.myspace.com/darkcloudmetal (used the Agiles on all the tracks there).

Cool checking out the tracks right now. I'm 98% convinced I'm gonna go for the Agile. It's so cheap & Looks very Impressive (stats) Plus I've been reading from forum to forum from countless people that this thing sounds and plays great! Many people comparing it to the MMM1. Some claiming it's better even. so it will come down to do I believe the hype & give it a shot or not & go with one I've played. Then again if it is as good as "they" say then I'll have plenty of cash left over for more toys.

I've been checking out the other guitars and basses that this shop makes, and I'm drooling. Of all the other forums that I've read, I've only heard that some of the hardware could be replaced (and of course add EMG's). Even with my planned mods, I'd only be looking at a less than $400 bass. And since they seem so highly recommended from this forum, that is a big push toward getting one.

Im a big Rondo/Agile fan..ALso kurt the guy who runs rondo is a great guy and delivers awesoem customer service. I have owned a handful of guitars/basses from them..Highly recomended.

+1

I also own a couple of their rack cases. Best cases I've ever purchased. Cheap and indestructible.

Passive pickups aren't useless.

Agreed, but I for one find it easier to hear the notes I want to out of my bass with active pups. I have passive EMG's in my 5-string right now and won't be replacing them soon, they sound amazing as is. Every instrument is different and will sound different with new pups, so in my opinion, its always worth experimenting.

Well Just ordered the Agile AB3500 Baritone. Can't wait to play this thing & see what all the hype is about. Thanx to MKS for the info, I didn't even know anything about Rondo/Agile till mentioned by you. I didn't look for one yet, but if I keep this guitar where is a good place to get a case Rondo?

I have to agree as far as bass goes. I recorded a LTD bass today and I thought it sounded better than the fender american J. Lot more punchy. As far as guitars go I like both equally (passive and active).

I just ordered a bass from Rondo as well today (thanks MKS for the info). I got an email yesterday from Kurt saying that they don't have any custom molded hard shell cases for their instruments. Once I get it in, I'm taking it to my local music shop to see if they have any that will fit. Of course, I'm also going to see if it will fit in the same case as either of my other two basses here.

Good luck!

I've had a Schecter Baritone, MMM1, LTD viper Emg81 baritone, Yamaha Baritone.......
