Looking for movie suggestions......

I third that. I think Mallrats was definitely a weak point, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back wasn't very good either. I know I said anything he produces is excellent, and I stand by that statement. Those two just lack what the other movies had.

I am sure he has seen Memento, but I would second that as well. I almost mentioned it, but I just figured he had seen it. I need to watch that tomorrow again.

chasing amy is the most serious of them... but it's really good... i dont' know... mallrats is the kind of movie that just makes me die on the floor laughing over and over again... it is stupid.. one of the stupidest movies i've ever seen... but that's why i love it... because kevin smith was trying to make it horrid stupid... and he just did what he was trying to do.. and i love it... plus it's the movie that jay and silent bob (with the excepttion of the last one) are in the most... and I just love them

Memento is an awesome movie. The Others with Nicole Kidman is excellent in a slow drawn out way. From Hell was good ( The Jack the Ripper one w/ Johnny Depp). These are the only new movies I can think of worth mentioning. Lord of the Rings is very good too ( in case you were wondering)

If you like horror/comedy and haven't seen Peter Jackson's earlier films you should check them out : Dead Alive, Bad Taste, and Meet the Feebles. Heavenly Creatures is a very good Drama that is impossible to forget (at least the end).

Anything by the Coen Bros. : Barton Fink, Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Ol Brother Where Art Thou, ......

If you don't mind subtitles ... Run Lola Run , La Femme Nakita, The Seven Samuria , and Croching Tiger Hidden Dragon are all good.

Others: Taxi Driver, Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,
Patton, The Usual Suspects, Reservoir Dogs, Dead Man, Ghost Dog, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Alright... There is too many to name... I'll stop now

The best movie so far in the "good vs. evil" category for me is Alan Parker's "Angel Heart". From the category of more "fun" movies - definitely "The Fifth Element".

"End of Days" was ghadawful.

Check out The Story Of Ricky (sometimes called "Ricky Oh"). It's the most ridiculously over-the-top kung-fu gorefest of all time! Ricky can break chains, punch through walls, get shot, get buried alive and basically kick everyone's arse who dares get in his way. And kick arse he does, in the most bloody and spectacular way possible: jaws are punched off, eyeballs go flying and limbs are severed with a single karate chop! I can't recommend this film any higher.

I got my DVD at www.dddhouse.com. They're based in Hong Kong, but orders take less than a week to the UK. Damn cheap, too. (most DVDs are $10.00/£7.00 or less).

hell yeah, bad taste very funny indead, and dead alive/brain dead is awesome too, gotta love the lawnmower scene , meet the feebles is just pure weird though!

one of my fave films is "if..." its pretty old now and some of it was shot in black and white but its an awesome movie, , another kewl movie that i've finally got round to seeing recently is "shadow of the vampire", its set around the filming of the original "nosferatu" movie but it suggests that max shreck, the guy who played count orlock, really was a vampire...
