Hello,
I'd like to know who one else has seen the new DVD(s). I'm really blown away, so much szenes which weren't in the cinema-version. There's a lot more "heart" in the movie now, I think. And to see Galadriel to laugh so cute was worth to buy it too. :)

What I like 'bout the extended version is in the very beginning of the movie, the scene of the Hobbits in Hobbiton!

Could we give it a rest until the film comes up next month? Why do you people get so excited? It will be fun to watch but nothing more.....

hello yes i bought the dvd yesterday and i reckon in all honesty that cate blanchett is one of the most beautiful women i have ever seen. the film is boss, the extended one is even better and cate is the best i've seen for that kind of honest to god loveliness.
so anyway who cares?

No Tom Bombadil, no old man willow, no Barrow-downs. Although I understand the decision to cut some parts (and it probably even improved the movie), I would have liked to see every page translated to film. Every word, even: the longer, the better. :)

Still think Peter Jackson would have been perfect for Tom Bombadil.

No, none of these! I heard PJ saying they liked to have them in, of course, but if you look close at those scenes they have little to do with the whole going, so they decided to leave them out of the film. Well, it's sad but understandable.
But the DVD extended version is so brilliant, many new scenes, which make the film even better!! And Lothlorien is much longer then before, which is very appreciated!

Cheers

No I didn't watch it yet. I just can't get myself into mood where I could concentrate on a movie for 3½ hours... That day will come soon, though. I hope :) I only watched the beginning and it looked grand with all new introduction of the hobbits!
