Loss of Hearing

WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR THIS THREAD!

Seriously though, I haven't been into metal long, but I have worried about it. When I went to see Hypocrisy, I stayed all the way in the back during the supporting bands and came up to the middle for Hypocrisy. Worked great and no ringing ears.

I'm already starting to lose my hearing. I've had issues with my ears my entire life because my ear canals are too small. I also have ringing in my ears sometimes. I guess that's one reason why I don't go to many shows.

What I'm more worried about is losing my sight though. I'm a painter and have absolutely terrible vision without my glasses. Without them I don't see shit. I will probably get the lasic surgery in a few years though. However, that's scary to think about as well.

I usually wear earplugs and they make the concerts sound a lot better too. When I was at the Finnish Metal Expo I didn't remember to bring plugs with me and I was really close to the stage and some things really sounded like crap and I had huge ringing in my ears the next night.

I'm fairly sure I will remember to take the plugs with me now.

Actually, at a show I went to recently, it was louder in the middle, and less loud right in front of the stage and in the back. I had severe ringing in my left ear for several days afterwards due to one of the shitty bands playing too fucking loud with my left ear pointed towards them. I was off to the side and about half way back the venue.

common sense will tell you that this is in fact almost always true.

I was simply pointing out that right in front of the stage is a not so loud spot, contrary to what most people were saying.

Edit: At my first concert, I stood in the "loud as shit" spot.
