low end console EQ vs ITB

Hey,

So ive got that mini console (mixer?), its soundcraft spirit live, something a bit old, not too expensive, but not bad.

I was wondering if you think it may worth to route the channels to my DAW so i can use it as outboard EQ, and if it should still sound better then all those digital plugins.

What do you think?

Those are pretty decent consoles actually. Analog EQ is always going to be beneficial. It causes fun phase differences that give it the analog feel! Try a channel and see if it floats your boat.

Worth it? Maybe. Better than all those digital plugins? Sorry, nope.

You might get more mileage out of the pres, depending on what you're using now.

I did some gigs with soundcraft spirits. didn't really like them, then i used a midas and was like, woah, i can actually hear what i'm fucking doing.

lol, i cant really afford VCC, its really overpriced for me at the moment.

the pres are quite nice, very midrange and low mids. on the highs they are a bit harsh with too much gain.

I'd say try and see if you like it. If you do, sweet. If you don't, then how bad.
