Don't know what you think, but I always have problems getting that low-tom in tune. Most of the time the low-tom sound stands out a bit.
Last week I had a session with two toms which were totally different. The high tom sounded good, but there was no way to get a good sound of the low one, so got an idea while mixing.
I took the solo hits of the high tom and pitched them down 5 halfsteps after the attack of like 6 ms! ('cause pitched attack sounded strange, pitched body good)
So I had a perfect interval between the toms and could use the recorded sound of that high tom, too.

I'm sure the idea is not brand new, but I thought to share it because it made my day ;)

Did this just las week, also some samples sounded identical so I dropped them a few cents to make the kit breathe a bit more.

I didn't try not doing this to the attack, but rather the whole thing, but the stick hits are all pretty close, so it makes sense, I'll try it today.

Thanks
