Lucid Dreams...

thats kewl oyo, i never get spontaneous vibrations, never relaxed enough i suppose, i have to meditate for 20mins and try to clear my mind
making other people dream about me? i don't wanna give em nightmares

It only happened to me once, and I had fallen asleep trying. My problem is when I finally buckle down and give it a go, if I don't get the vibes, I lost my will to try it again later, I really should try again tonight, I always tell myself "I will do it every night no matter what, i'll do it at least once a day" And I can keep that up for maybe a week, then i'll say "Well, just this once, i'm too tired to try", then it gets to be I stop doing it.

i tried some time ago.. i used it to..um... deliver a message and it worked :)

i can't astral project myself anymore  before it was really easy, i just lied down, tried to see with my eyes closed until i felt like i was falling.. i never went too far though... i still don't know how i managed to kick my sister's arse once

the avatar is Angelina Jolie.. i just like that picture :)

yeah i hadnt tried it in a while, but then started again a few nights ago, you have to be in the right frame of mind anyway, you shouldnt even attempt it if you're not feeling happy and relaxed, doing it while stressed or tired is a bad idea...

Wow it worked, that's great, was it hard to do?
Not really, the hard part is that you have to try when the person is sleeping too..
When i did it, i waited 'til i started lucid dreaming then 'created' a dream including that person and that was it.. after that i talked to the person and threw some hints and found out it had worked :)

People actually believe this AP crap? No such thing exists. People like fancying themselves in an obe situation or otherwise. These are silly imaginations or false interpretations (of those imaginations) and signify nothing, no more. Its purpose is to give people an interesting thing to talk about. It has that social function of bonding people together, a bit like urban myths, pets, etc.

So what else should we talk about? Prayer? Sheeeeeeeet. (Ask Christians about talking to God or about the holy spirit, and they'll talk about these as sincerely - and passionately - as you mofos have about ap, obe etc. )

I am open-minded, but until you guys can convince me you're not a bunch of new-ageist 'gullibles', I stand by my current assessment.

I'm not trying to prove it evil, just discussing it with the people who have tried.

The question is, how critical of this have YOU ever been? have you ever tried to *dis*prove what you're inclined to believe?

Two things: I wish to be enlightened about something I know comparatively little; and I wish to flesh out what gullibilties there exist in the otherwise irreligious, if you know what I mean (I'm kind of tired right now so you'll have to pardon my bluntness )

Yes it sounds stupid/impossible, I tried it, something happened. Something definantely is happening, be it altered conciousness or random neural discharges I don't know, but something is going on.

"definitely" is rather too strong. I rarely find the word warranted even for naturalistic observations. How about re-situating these "happenings" and dressing them in mundane terms? (ie criticize them? attempt to configure the seemingly impossible in terms of the possible?)

Bleh, I don't care when people are blunt, better than circling around and beating around the bush while dropping hints at your point. I don't think you read my story in the other post. Basically I was completely skeptical about it, I had no reason to be inclined to think it was possible, and then this lady described my brother's room in detail over AOL, so I put my skepticism aside and tried it. Regardless of what I believe, which is "I have no clue what this is" Something happens when you try, you feel intense vibrations, you feel strange things that never happen otherwise. Whether or not I believe it doesn't make my subjective experience any different. I have no way of proving it, so i'm not going to try, just explaining myself.

well back to the lucid dreaming thing, the following has happened twice to me, it may be related

ive been day-dreaming, with my eyes shut and ive kinda fallen asleep, but a few minutes later ive woken up, but been able to keep the image of my dream in my head. What i mean is my eyes were wide open, i was wide awake and sitting up and looking around, but the image i was seeing was the scene from my last dream (i think it was something stupid like a kitchen or something) and then after a few seconds i lost it and i was seeing my bedroom again.

I was too amazed the first time it happened and i only held onto the vision for a second, but the second time it happened i was able to immediately concentrate and i kept the image for quite a few seconds.
