I've been using these computer speakers forever. Mind you, they're Harmon/kardon computer speakers, but they're still computer speakers nonetheless.

So I was hoping that now that I'm back in the city, next week sometime I'd go down to the store and buy a decent entry-level reciever and a pair of speakers. I don't need any extreme 7.1 setups or anything, I just need something to get a decent stereo setup.

Moose, Onkyo makes a very nice "surround system in a box" type deal for under $500, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, "the city?" There's only one city you can call "the city."

But maybe not if there's a decent package deal on a reciever + speakers somewhere.

I know that I'd just never hook up a sub because neighbours right through the wall would probably kill me after two days.
