What do ye make of these?

Got an offer for a trade for my 2 Presonus Firepods. I need 8 channels of pres/conversion as extra inputs via ADAT for my Fireface 800. Could I use this for that? Are the pres/converters alright on it?

Whats the control surface like? Easy to use/ set up?

Never really heard much about them before, we used them in college but for editing very simple stuff. Never recorded or heard of people using them for recording.

I use them most of the time, because this studio I use for recording bands has this very same interface. Pre's are clean, they are alright. Minus is that they don't have pads, so you might get clipping if you record a material with strong transients and high SPL levels. Haven't used it much as the controller (except for punch ins, etc.), but it should be quite alright for that purpose too.
