When the MacBook's and MBP's came out, PowerBook prices wen't insanely low - 1.67 with a gig of memory goes on eBay these days for 1200, give or take 50 bucks or so. This will make getting a G5 quite a bit easier for me!

Get a similarly configured PC and you're looking at the same cost or more. I have no idea where you're getting the $18,481 figure either... Check out the configuration I just put in:

If they have a thirty day return policy or something - you very well may be able to do that.

Keep in mind, though, there aren't that many Universal applications for recording yet... Logic, PT's, and DP runs (DP as of this weekend), but not much else .
