Mac Pro released today!

When the MacBook's and MBP's came out, PowerBook prices wen't insanely low - 1.67 with a gig of memory goes on eBay these days for 1200, give or take 50 bucks or so. This will make getting a G5 quite a bit easier for me!

Yeah, you can access the Apple Store now, pretty sweeeet.

About time they dropped the display prices a little, they were too expensive compared to the competetion.

This is going to sound nerdy..but I'm really interested in getting an Intel Mac just for the sake of playing Counter-Strike again.

This comes at just the right time for me.....I have been waiting for this to replace my Mirror Drive G4 , dual 1.0 ghz.

Looks almost as powerful as this:

I thought the new macpro would use the new intel core 2 duo quad.

Quad Dual Cores? I think I heard Intel was hoping to have something ready the first quarter 2007.

Hahaha.......$18.481 for the full setup. That's a bargain.

Get a similarly configured PC and you're looking at the same cost or more. I have no idea where you're getting the $18,481 figure either... Check out the configuration I just put in:

$17,134.00
Two 3.0 GHz Dual Xeons (Quad, so we're talking 12 GHz overall)
2 Terabytes hard disk storage
16 gigs RAM
NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 card (the best video card on the market)
TWO 30" Apple Cinema Displays
2 SuperDrives (optical)
BlueTooth, AirPort Extreme, Fibre Channel (anyone here use Fibre Channel? thought not...)
Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse
AppleCare protection for all of the above.

I've never seen a system with specs like that, anywhere. That's so much power it's ridiculous. Of course it costs that much!

If they have a thirty day return policy or something - you very well may be able to do that.

Keep in mind, though, there aren't that many Universal applications for recording yet... Logic, PT's, and DP runs (DP as of this weekend), but not much else :(.
