Whatsup guys, i'm recording this really gnarly band I'll be sure to post the song when its done. I was wondering how you guys make your cymbals shine through the mix without making them overpowering? Eqing and such, i've always had a problem with getting the right EQing for cymbals that i really like.

According to my teacher, the crisp is around 7-8kHz and the brilliance around 8-12kHz and the airyness around 15Khz. So try and boost those freqs, but dont too much otherwise it will sound like a Chango mix ^^ You can also try cut around 1000 hz aiddtionaly to 500Hz. Also depending on samples u maybe want to hipass a bit higher, around 250-350Hz.
