Have listened to their lyrics? How can you take that seriously? You can't sit there and tell me you can listen to them with a straight face?! Their fans are insane and rival Trekkies and KISS fans, I had to review a DVD of theirs where they have MONOWAR conventions?!

I think I have that DVD. What a piece of crap... I was expecting a full concert, but instead it's a jumbled mess of partial song clips mixed with boring stuff like photoshoots & autograph sessions

Arguably all of its been cheesy but its just fun music to listen to although I haven't heard the newest album yet.
OK, OK, you all are right. Manowar have cheesy lyrics, like the following:

Too me it not cheesy is more girlish, I mean is the kind of thing flowery and covered in pink I would not expect from a metal band, but again that's me
On the other hand I bet several bands and songs I like have similar or worst lyrics and I have never paid attention, the difference is that I like those bands but not Manowar. Such is life in the tropic

Dude. You listen to Motely Crue and Dokken. Are you kidding me? Almost every band I've seen you list have lyrics just as bad if not more poorly written than Manowar lyrics.
Anyway, the first four Manowar albums are amazing, despite the dumb lyrics. Extremely heavy, doomy, original Metal with ridiculous Conan-esque pomp and pretense. Everything afterwards is overly cheesy kitsch, but listenable (when drunk) for that same reason.

a) a bit too extreme
b) equally cheesy. 99.9% of the grindcore bands plus Cannibal Corpse had been there
And what if he does? If you want to discuss Motley Crue, Dokken or anything else open a thread and do it intelligently. I erased the two other post because it seems you both cannot argue without getting personal.
This is mainly about Manowar, like or dislike, keep your guns in the holders and behave. One more time this thread is about TASTE and that's is always subjective and must be respected by all parts.
Orfanos is one of the finest posters in here and he likes Manowar and I respect him, it's not for me but works for him. Sixxswine is another fine poster (and a great bouncer
