I`m not huge fan, but I like some albums. I know that they are very cheesy, but so is most band I like. Metal dont have to bee so serious all the time.

And what if he does? If you want to discuss Motley Crue, Dokken or anything else open a thread and do it intelligently. I erased the two other post because it seems you both cannot argue without getting personal.

This is mainly about Manowar, like or dislike, keep your guns in the holders and behave. One more time this thread is about TASTE and that's is always subjective and must be respected by all parts.

Orfanos is one of the finest posters in here and he likes Manowar and I respect him, it's not for me but works for him. Sixxswine is another fine poster (and a great bouncer )and he likes Motley Crue and I respect him, it's not for me but works for him.

This is the last warning, keep the thread at bay and joke all you want, but no more verbal abuse or I'll lock it.

True enough, but if one's only input to a Manowar thread is in the lines of "Manowar sucks lol!!1" it might as well be left unsaid. I just can't see any purpose for those comments other than starting shit and provocation. Don't like the band in question -> don't reply. Applies for both regulars and newcomers...

I agree in part, have some fun is part of what UMOS is. If we are going to become a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals grumpy people that can only discuss threads like if it a holy book and never have a bit of fun then the forum is not for me either. Just remember to have fun wihout hurting people personally. If you noticed me I never post in many threads of artist I don't know or like, I simple let them pass by, but in some cases like this one I like to have so clean fun.

So we can bash Metallica time and again (which is boring by now) but we cannot touch any other band? I don't believe in sacred cows.

Fair enough, but I'm not going to cut people's right to have some fun as long as they're not personal attacks.

I'm always mocked in anothe forum because I like power metal and big label bands and I'm not into underground stuff, but they never attack me personally.

Bottom line people can continue shooting blanks pro and con for Manowar or ANY other band, but in the moment they go for live ammo I close the thread.

I don't think so. Otherwise it's not being objective. How you're objective makes a difference. If all you have to is say sucks, then pipe down. If you can be objective without going overboard I'm all for it. If you read some of the previous posts, people got bent over this band, who has made a career of their goofy image and their mediocre musical abilities. Yes much like a Motley Crue, but on a smaller scale (probably less than that but people here are so senstitive).....

There is a difference between being objective and being an ass. That was what JD referred to. Being critical is fine.

I agree with what you say though. I am not that big on Manowar their first 3 albums have some great moments but only if you place them in the era were they were released.

Have listened to their lyrics? How can you take that seriously? You can't sit there and tell me you can listen to them with a straight face?! Their fans are insane and rival Trekkies and KISS fans, I had to review a DVD of theirs where they have MONOWAR conventions?!

I enjoy the cheesieness of it but whatever. The only type of lyrics I don't like are shock and awe ones that relate to something I have strong opinions on or political ones I disagree with.

I heard a song of theirs earlier, it's great if you're in the mood, but if your in the mood for straight forward metal I don't really like them, with the whole "we will fight for the glory of metal with blood drenched spears of power, riding through the forest of magic, manowar will live free forever".
