Btw guys, vocals are still coming - we recorded the bulk of the cleans today, sounding great so far.
The vocalist is going to be here again on Thursday when we'll (hopefully) finish the rest, including the growls/screams.
I'll be uploading them as soon as they're done!

edit: Here's a small preview of what we have so far - there's some harmonies missing from the first bit and the last "OURSELVES!" might be retracked and doubled.

Alright, so it looks like it might be a while before the vocalist can come and finish his tracks. He's studying some sort of crazy physics at a top uni here, so he's pretty short for time.
Anyway, I figured I'd just upload what we got so far for you all in case you wanted to see how your mix sat with vocals on top. The audio files start at the tempo change, so they should line up fine if you place them accordingly.

I usually do a lot more tweaking to get the programming to play nice with my samples, but since my primary intent was to play with the guitar tone I've been working on, I left it alone for the most part.



I was happy with how little processing I was able to get away with on it. There's a M/S shelving EQ on the guitars, and then I'm bussing it with the bass, giving it about a dB of compression, and scooping out 3-4 dB between 200 and 400.

Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure i went a bit OTT on the low end of the guitars...they sound pretty ridiculous at times

Hopefully the you can get the rest of the vocals done soon, they're sounding great so far! Will re work those guitars once the vocals come into play.
